Статья посвящена роли элит в развитии и интеграции ESG повестки в компаниях, состоящей из экологических, социальных и управленческих принципов. В рамках данной статьи выдвигается гипотеза о наличии значимого влияния элит на представление ESG-информации компаниям. Исследование охватывает выборку из 19 крупнейших по капитализации компаний в сфере материалов и источников энергии (по отраслевому классификационному стандарту Bloomberg — BICS), зарегистрированных на бирже, Российской Федерации за период с 2010 по 2020 год. Методология исследования основана на теории элит, теориях нематериальных факторов конкуренции и теории заинтересованных сторон. В ходе исследования были применены различные методы, включая описательный анализ, корреляционный анализ и регрессионную модель панельных данных для изучения взаимосвязи между ролью элит и раскрытием ESG-показателей. В качестве показателей, раскрывающих роль элит, были выбраны размер совета директоров, независимость совета директоров, разделение должности генерального директора и председателя совета. Результаты исследования доказали важность роли элит в публичном представлении ESG-информации компаниями. Исследование также выявило ограничения и определило возможные направления для будущих исследований.
The article is devoted to the role of elites in the development and integration of the ESG agenda in companies, consisting of environmental, social and managerial principles. Within the framework of this article, a hypothesis is put forward about the presence of a significant influence of elites on the presentation of ESG information to companies. The study covers a sample of the 19 largest companies in the field of materials and energy sources by capitalization (according to the Bloomberg — BICS industry classification standard) registered on the stock exchange of the Russian Federation for the period from 2010 to 2020. The research methodology is based on the theory of elites, theories of intangible factors of competition and the theory of stakeholders. The study used various methods, including descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, and a regression model of panel data to explore the relationship between the role of elites and the disclosure of ESG indicators. The size of the board of Directors, the independence of the board of Directors, and the separation of the positions of CEO and chairman of the Board were chosen as indicators revealing the role of elites. The results of the study proved the importance of the role of elites in the public presentation of ESG information by companies. The study also identified limitations and identified possible directions for future research.
