At present, there are a large number of different technologies for oil production stimulation, many of them were already started to be implemented in the last century. The accumulated experience has made it possible to determine the optimal boundaries of applicability, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in different conditions of application. A special case of oil production stimulation at producing wells is solvent treatment, which currently includes carbon dioxide in liquid and supercritical state. The article presents the analysis of application of the technology of gas cyclic treatment of bottomhole formation zone of producing wells for the period 1980–2023, where carbon dioxide is used as a solvent. According to the literature analysis performed by the authors of this paper, the world experience counts about 200 documented tests of this technology. OnePetro, ResearchGate, Elsevier, elibrary and other information sources were used for the search. The authors collected and analyzed information on the efficiency of gas cycling treatments. The collected database contains 168 lines, information on 52 fields from 6 countries, prepared data on well operation before/after treatment, injection volumes, holding time, number of treatment cycles, basic properties of reservoir and saturating oil. The history of application from pilot projects to modern experiments is prepared, information resources for search are given, geography of application is demonstrated. In the final part, a number of general trends and regularities in gas cycling treatments are given, and conclusions are formulated. The authors are ready to share the accumulated statistics upon request through the contact information provided.
