<abstract xml:lang="ru">

      <trans-abstract xml:lang="en">

This paper models price competition and marketing investments across heterogeneous online platforms and demonstrates how differences in marketing budgets generate persistent price dispersion. Unlike classical theoretical frameworks, the degree of product differentiation is endogenous here and is determined by the distribution of firms’ marketing expenditures across platforms. The practical contribution of the study is that the model provides a transparent and empirically testable account of why, even with limited resources, firms benefit from maintaining a presence on each key marketing platform: reallocating budget between channels is an effective tactical instrument, whereas changing a firm’s strategic competitive position requires an increase in total investment. The results indicate to platform managers and analysts that maintaining a minimal presence across all significant channels helps preserve visibility and market share, while optimizing budget allocation between platforms primarily serves a tactical purpose to adapt to their relative importance. Moreover, the model generates a set of testable hypotheses regarding the effects of the number of competitors and relative budgets on the magnitude of the price premium, which can inform marketing strategy and the allocation of advertising resources. The article will be helpful to strategy practitioners, platform analysts, pricing managers, and other key market participants designing competitive strategies for online markets, as well as to researchers in game theory, digital economics, and marketing analytics.
